On Friday 6th December 2024, we had the pleasure of hosting the beautiful winter wedding of Sophie and Rotem. Their day unfolded with warmth, romance and the loveliest sense of togetherness, creating a celebration that felt personal, meaningful and full of joy from start to finish. With candlelight, music and a wonderful gathering of loved ones, it was the perfect December wedding in the heart of Cheshire.
A quiet start, together
The morning at our Knutsford wedding venue began gently, with Sophie arriving early to settle into The Loft and have her hair and makeup done. We saw the space fill slowly with familiar voices and soft conversation as the morning unfolded, creating a calm and unhurried start to the day.
Rotem prepared nearby at Cottons Hotel before joining us at Larkspur Lodge, where he spent time with close family and friends in the bar area. Before guests arrived, Sophie and Rotem enjoyed a private first look upstairs, giving them a moment together to soak in the excitement before the celebrations began. It was one of those moments that set the tone for the rest of the day, personal, intentional and focused on what mattered most to them.

Welcoming guests to the Lodge
As guests began to arrive, we welcomed everyone into the bar and lounge, where drinks were flowing and our background music set a relaxed pace for the afternoon. Sophie and Rotem chose to greet their guests together by the welcome table, this was a truly unique touch that created a particularly warm and inclusive atmosphere.
With everyone gathered, conversations flowing and anticipation building, the Lodge felt full and lively without feeling rushed. It was a gentle lead-in to the ceremony, allowing guests to settle in and enjoy the space before being invited through.
A blessing ceremony filled with meaning
When it was time for the ceremony, we announced for guests to take their seats and prepared the room for Sophie’s entrance. The ceremony space had been styled with a chuppah, soft candlelight from our Lit With Love package and the warm glow of the Edison light bar. Glass cylinder vases lined the aisle, adding to the intimate feel of the room.
Sophie was escorted down the aisle by her father, Michael, as their carefully chosen ceremony music played. Reserved seating ensured close family and the bridal party were well placed, creating a sense of closeness and shared experience throughout the blessing.
The ceremony itself flowed beautifully, with moments for reflection, music during the signing, and a joyful exit that marked the beginning of their married life. Standing beneath the chuppah, surrounded by loved ones, Sophie and Rotem shared a ceremony that felt both meaningful and deeply personal.

Post-ceremony moments at the Lodge
After the ceremony, we invited guests back into the bar area to enjoy drinks and conversation. Live guitar and vocals from a friend of the couple’s added to the relaxed vibe of their drinks reception.
During this time, Sophie and Rotem took a few quiet moments together while their guests mingled and enjoyed the space. It’s always one of our favourite parts of the day, when the energy softens briefly and everyone settles into the celebration.
Welcoming Sophie & Rotem as Mr and Mrs
When the time came for the wedding breakfast, we invited guests to take their seats and then announced Sophie and Rotem’s entrance as the new Mr and Mrs. The room filled with applause as they joined their guests, ready to begin the next chapter of the day.
They chose to start with a short wedding toast, giving them both the opportunity to speak directly to their guests. It was a simple, heartfelt moment that set a warm tone before the meal was served.
The wedding breakfast, prepared by Fork & Field, was enjoyed alongside music chosen by the couple. Sophie and her mother had styled the tables themselves, and the space felt welcoming and personal.
A surprise burst of celebration
Just as dessert had been enjoyed and guests were settling back into their seats, Sophie and Rotem surprised everyone with one of the most memorable moments of the day. What began as a quiet pause soon turned into laughter and applause as the singing waiters revealed themselves and filled the room with music.
The shift in atmosphere was instant. Smiles spread across the room as guests joined in, clapped along and were encouraged onto their feet. It was a wonderful lift in energy and a moment that brought everyone together, setting the perfect tone for the day to move into evening celebrations.

An evening made for dancing
As the afternoon gave way to evening, the Lodge took on a lively, celebratory feel that suited a December wedding perfectly. With the room transformed and music filling the space, Sophie and Rotem’s guests were more than ready to continue the celebrations.
The dancefloor quickly came to life, with friends and family all joining the couple for the celebration of a lifetime. There was a wonderful sense of togetherness throughout the evening, with laughter, dancing and shared moments carrying on well into the night. It was exactly the kind of party we love to see at Larkspur Lodge!
A winter celebration to remember
As the evening drew to a close, Sophie and Rotem’s wedding came to a natural, joyful end. From the quiet moments at the start of the day to the music, laughter and candlelit celebrations that followed, their wedding at Larkspur Lodge felt relaxed, personal and full of warmth.
It was a pleasure for our team to host Sophie and Rotem’s entire day here at the Lodge, guiding each moment and helping to create a celebration that truly reflected them and the people they chose to share it with.
