Amy Powell and Jonathan Walters celebrated their wedding in style on Friday 17th May 2024 at Larkspur Lodge, and what a day it was! From relaxed preparations, through to a lively evening of music and dancing, their day was filled with joy, laughter, and beautiful personal touches.

A Perfect Start in The Loft

As Amy and Jon were having a 4pm ceremony, the bride started her day in our Loft preparation room. The Loft is a light and welcoming area designed with brides and their bridal party in mind, offering plenty of room to relax, beauty stations for those finishing touches, and lots of natural light - we truly think it's the perfect setting to start the celebrations!

A Ceremony Filled with Love

Guests began to arrive from 3:30pm, enjoying a warm welcome and drinks in our lovely Bar & Lounge area. With an impressive 24-foot bar and wide choice of champagnes, spirits, wines, and ales, our bar offered Amy and Jon’s loved ones the perfect place to relax and mingle ahead of the main event.

Then, at 4pm, it was time to say “I Do”. Amy’s father, Jim, proudly walked her down the aisle after two adorable flower girls and page boy set the scene. We ensured that the bridal party had reserved seats, ensuring that they had a perfect view of the moment when Amy and Jon exchanged vows.

To complement our Ceremony Room, The Flower House had created beautiful aisle décor, complemented by our “Lit With Love” package, featuring glass cylinder vases with glowing church candles and our striking Edison light bar. Together, these details transformed the Ceremony Room into a romantic and elegant space.

Music played an important role in the ceremony (and throughout the day!). Amy made her entrance to “You Send Me” by Sam Cooke, before a piano cover of “Wonderwall” by Henry Smith, “Waterloo Sunset” by The Kinks, and “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green. As the ceremony concluded, the newlyweds exited joyfully to “Songbird” by Oasis.

Drinks, Music & Memories

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a relaxed drinks reception, accompanied by the smooth sounds of saxophonist Jamie Gallacher. Rob Heyes Photography captured every moment, from the gorgeous confetti shots that we love, to the classic golden hour portraits surrounded by the Cheshire countryside. Our couples love that there are plenty of places both indoors and outdoors to get the perfect shot.

A Beautiful Wedding Breakfast

At 5:30pm, everyone was invited into the Lodge Room for the wedding breakfast. With exposed red brick walls and stylish white table settings, this is a space that speaks for itself - but it looked even more beautiful thanks to thoughtful touches from Amy herself and florals by The Flower House.

Speeches followed the meal and were filled with love, laughter, and a few tears. Jim, the proud father of the bride, was the first to speak, followed by Jon, the groom, and finally best man Mike. Afterward, Jim surprised guests with a special performance of his own, singing and playing guitar, which was a truly personal and memorable highlight of the day.

Evening Celebrations

We love a good party, and as the Lodge was transformed for the evening reception, excitement filled the air. DJ Matt Cat took to the decks to keep the dancefloor full all night long. Guests also enjoyed the Airstream photo booth, snapping fun pictures and taking home a unique keepsake from the day.
