From the quiet morning preparations to the lively evening, it was a pleasure to assist Kate and David in shaping their special day.

A Calm Start to a Beautiful Day

The day for Kate began early, with her preparations taking place in the comfortable Loft at Larkspur Lodge from 6 am. It was a peaceful start, allowing for a relaxed atmosphere as the excitement for the day ahead grew. Meanwhile, David prepared at home in Wilmslow, ready to join his soon-to-be wife at the lodge.

Guests began to arrive at 11:30 am, making their way through the side entrance to the bar area, where they were welcomed with drinks. The gentle hum of conversation and anticipation filled the air, setting a warm tone for the celebrations to follow. David, along with his best man and principal wedding guests, arrived at 11:00 am, gathering in the bar area, anticipating the ceremony.

A Heartfelt Ceremony

As 11:45 am approached, the ceremony was announced, and guests began to find their seats in the ceremony room. The civil ceremony itself began promptly at 12:00 PM and lasted for approximately 30 minutes. It was a deeply personal moment, full of love and emotion.

Kate made her way down the aisle, gracefully escorted by her mother, Alison. Accompanying them were four bridesmaids and a charming page boy. The beautiful music for the ceremony was provided by the talented pianist, Andrea, whose melodies added a touch of elegance to the proceedings. 

The ceremony room was thoughtfully adorned, with Knutsford Bloom providing delightful aisle decorations. A striking light column from Hipswing also graced the room, alongside the Edison light bar from Larkspur Lodge, creating a soft and inviting glow. Every detail contributed to a serene and romantic setting for Kate and David to exchange their vows.

The Celebrations

The lovely sounds of Andrea, the pianist, continued to fill the air, creating a cheerful atmosphere. Live music also played in the bar area, and when the weather was kind, acoustic performances even took place on the terrace, allowing guests to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful surroundings.

These precious moments were all captured beautifully by Rebecca Jones Photography, ensuring that every smile, every laugh, and every tender glance would be remembered. 

Andrew James was the videographer for the day, making a moving film of their union. One of the joyful highlights was the confetti shot on the lawn, where Kate and David, surrounded by their loved ones, were showered with colourful confetti, marking the start of their new chapter as a married couple.

A Delightful Wedding Breakfast

As the afternoon unfolded, a gentle announcement invited all the wedding guests to be seated. A wave of anticipation went through the room as everyone settled in. Then, with joy and warmth, Larkspur Lodge announced the entrance of the happy couple as the new Mr and Mrs Ashcroft. The applause and cheers that followed filled the room with genuine happiness, a wonderful sound to begin the wedding breakfast.

At 3:00 PM, the incredible team from Fork & Field began serving the wedding breakfast. The aromas of the delicious food mingled with the gentle background music provided once again by the talented pianist, Andrea, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The room where the wedding breakfast was held was decorated with care. The Larkspur Lodge Edison light bar added a warm, inviting glow. 

The tables were adorned with lovely centrepieces provided by Knutsford Bloom, bringing a touch of nature's beauty inside. Furthermore, Carys Designs created the thoughtful seating plan and provided a fun photo booth, adding to the personalised feel of the day.

Heartfelt Toasts and Evening Merriment

After the delicious meal, it was time for the wedding toasts, a special part of any celebration. Larkspur Lodge guided the flow of speakers, introducing the first, and then each speaker introduced the next, making for a smooth and engaging sequence of speeches. The first to speak was Alison, Kate’s mother, who shared warm words and memories. She was followed by David, the groom, who spoke from the heart. Finally, the best man, Tom, concluded the toasts with a speech filled with humour and affection. These personal tributes truly added to the joyous atmosphere of the day.

As the sun began to set, Larkspur Lodge invited guests to make their way into the bar area. This allowed the wedding breakfast room to be prepared for the evening celebrations, a smooth transition taking approximately 45 minutes. The evening brought a wonderful array of entertainment. The Dials, a fantastic band, arrived at 5:30 pm and later performed sets that got everyone moving and dancing. Carys Designs also provided a photobooth in the snug, which was a very popular spot for guests to create fun memories between 8 pm and 11 pm.

A lovely moment of the evening was the cutting of the wedding cake, which took place at 7:15 PM. The cake, a beautiful creation by Natalie Cake Studio, had been displayed on the dresser since 8 am, adding to the decorative elements of the day. After this, the band announced the first dance at 7:30 PM. Kate and David took to the floor, sharing a beautiful moment as their guests watched on, many joining them on the dance floor soon after.

A Night to Remember

As the evening progressed, the celebration continued with music and joy. The live music played until 11:00 pm, keeping the energy high, and a DJ service continued until 11:55 pm, gradually quieting the music towards the very end. The bar took last orders at 11:55 pm, allowing everyone to enjoy the final moments of the celebration.

As the clock neared 12:30 am, it was time for carriages to arrive, marking the end of a truly special day for Kate and David. Their wedding at Larkspur Lodge was a wonderful reflection of their journey together, filled with laughter, love, and moments that will be cherished for many years to come.
